The last two books on my bedside table ... have been very different. I bought them both in a supermarket, primarily driven by the fact that it was cheap. I know it's sleazy, but a fierce reader books start to get expensive! In this way, however, take The scam typically ... This time the balance is positive: a coup for Niffeneger filmstrips so intense that it makes me forget the yawning continuously for Adrian.
I found the wonderful prose of Audrey Niffeneger in The Time Traveler's Wife it is dragged by the force of his words. The story combines the power of ordinary life to a surreal experience as that of space-travel, vivid and never managed to make both mundane experiences. So Henry, the man who travels through time speaks of his life:
" In fact, it is ironic. My pleasures are simple: the joys of the chair, the emotions calm of domestic life. I ask only modest pleasures. A detective novel to read in bed, the scent of long golden hair still wet from Clare after a shower, a postcard arrived from a friend on vacation, the cream that melts in your coffee, the softness of the skin under Clare's breasts, the symmetry of the grocery bags resting on the kitchen counter waiting to be emptied. I like to wander in the store library books, when the players are now returned to their homes, touching the shores of the volumes. These are the things I pierce the whim of nostalgia when I subtract the time. "
Any aspiring writer would give his right hand to write something so sublime and clean ...
Unfortunately I can not say the same of the second book I bought at the supermarket. Midnight Kiss Lara Adrian is really ugly, predictable, poorly written (sometimes the phrasing does not flow, you have to go back and reread!). Do not you ever fly with the fantasy, reading it you feel trapped in the atmosphere of romance all sighs and male sexual potency by the excessive and annoying. Women
readers stand up, okay to be romantic, but these characters in the style of man who should not ever ask "are not outdated? Do not we deserve male protagonists without club and maybe a bit 'of psychological depth?
I say yes.
